Using my smartphone, Instagram's photo editor, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop and Snapseed
Photos and using real imagery, compared to graphics and icons, are a great way to humanize brands. For companies, leveraging real images help showcase the people, employees, behind the successes of the company, the people, customers, impacted by the company and innovative products that clearly showcase all the intentionally thought-through elements whether it be product features or packaging. Each aspect of the product adds value, benefiting the user in ways that even include understanding how the product works, via effectively communicated text and graphics. Real pictures that accurately depict and communicate the intended message, help build trust as well.
Context: I took photos as part of my hobby; sharing beautiful scenery and food adventures during my explorations, from my curious nature. I captured these moments as I reflected during my stroll throughout the city, setting goals for my next steps or chatting with a friend in the process. Other times, it was during catchups, special occasions or a vacation with great friends or my loved ones.
Key Considerations:
• The brand’s style guidelines and key message, aligned with past content, ensuring consistency
• The audience’s needs, language and behaviour, ensuring content is relevant, relatable and optimized, as analytics can show, for example, that past content posted at 9:00 pm show higher engagement, meaning that posting at 9:00 pm can be effective for future content posts
• The intentional and accurate depiction of what’s being captured, ensuring the photo sends the intended message
• The balance of white space and colours in the photo
• Flattering angle, view and lighting
• The photo dimensions and resolution, suited to the right social media platform and device sizes, as photos on Instagram are aesthetically and consistently square while stories take up the device’s full screen
Key Steps:
1. Developing my photography skills, considering different angles, views, lighting and more
2. Snapping many sets of photos on my smartphone and soon, my DSLR camera
3. Editing photos with platforms like Adobe Lightroom and Snapseed, enhancing aspects through editing features like shadows, highlights, filters, sharpen, structure and more
4. Analyzing past results and conducting research to ensure the right timing, hashtags and components like location tags are used, to generate more awareness and engagement
5. Publishing content via the right channel, in the right format, at the right time
I am always open to marketing, sales and consulting opportunities.
