Using Squarespace (CMS) and Wix (WYSIWIG), as well as basic HTML and CSS
A website is an integral part of an organization because it is often users’ source for more information. To support this process and encourage users to learn more about a brand, the website must be easy-to-navigate and captivating, considering its design and content.
Context: I designed websites for BASS LAUNCH and Learning Disabilities Career Conference, within holistic marketing roles.
Key Considerations:
• The organization’s brand guidelines and key message, aligned with business goals and past content, ensuring consistency
• The audience’s information needs, language and behaviour, ensuring content is relevant, relatable and search engine optimized, while being user friendly
• The balance of text, white space and colours on the website
• Image dimensions and resolution, suited to the website, ensuring they are responsive on both desktop and mobile views
• Image and files sizes ensuring fast loading times
Key Steps:
1. Selecting the right web hosting platform and developing my web design skills leveraging a CMS, WYSIWYG, HTML and/or CSS, through self-directed learning via online sources such as Youtube tutorials, alongside mentorship
2. Structuring the website’s architecture ensuring beneficial and easy-to-natigate pages and a smooth UX
3. Generating content and design ideas through analyzing similar brands and content on a similar topic
4. Designing website content leveraging free stock photos, graphics and icons from sites including Pexels, Freepik and Flaticon
5. Iterating the website by analyzing Google Analytics results and conducting research on the right keywords, to generate more awareness and engagement
6. Reaching out to relevant partners for backlinks, furthering supporting SEO efforts
I am always open to marketing, sales and consulting opportunities.
